EL AL is gradually restoring flight operations across its international network, including Greek destinations, as the Israeli carrier works to rebuild services following recent disruptions linked to Middle East tensions.
According to the airline, Athens, Thessaloniki and Rhodes are among the first European destinations where services are resuming, followed by a wider network including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bucharest, Budapest, Frankfurt, Krakow, Larnaca, Lisbon, London (Heathrow and Luton), Madrid, Marseille, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paphos, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sofia, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich, as well as regional destinations such as Batumi, Tbilisi and Tivat.
The airline said it plans to operate flights to approximately 40 destinations in the coming week, marking a significant step toward normalizing operations. Beyond Europe, EL AL’s current network also includes routes to the United States—New York (JFK and Newark), Los Angeles, Miami and Boston—and long-haul services to Bangkok, Phuket and Tokyo.
EL AL added that it will continue to expand its network gradually in the coming weeks, aiming for a full return to its pre-disruption schedule across all destinations.
Despite the progress, the recovery remains complex. Flight schedules are still subject to change, and some services may be adjusted or canceled in the short term as operations stabilize.
At the same time, the airline confirmed that flights originally scheduled to depart from Israel through April 18, along with corresponding return flights, have been canceled, following directives from state authorities.
In a move aimed at supporting demand during the recovery period, EL AL is offering tickets at capped fares in Economy and Premium cabins for departures through the end of August 2026, subject to the evolving situation.
The gradual return of flights to Greece and other international destinations signals a cautious but steady recovery in air connectivity, as airlines balance operational challenges with efforts to restore key travel routes.
