Central Bucks Students Win Science Honors, International Competition Ahead

Five Central Bucks School District students earned high honors at the Delaware Valley Science Fair, winning bronze, silver, and gold medals.

Five students in the Central Bucks School District earned top honors at the Delaware Valley Science Fair (DVSF), which was held from March 31 to April 2, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.  

Thanks to their success, the students have qualified for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will take place between May 11 and 15 in Arizona.  

CB South senior Shreejith Krishnamoorthy won gold for his research aimed at creating a potential targeted therapy for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. His work was also recognized as the top senior project in the region. 

Snayhin Sharma, a sophomore at CB East, also won gold and recognition as the top sophomore project. Sharma’s research proposed a quantum computing method could expedite complicated scientific calculations utilized in climate science and medicine.  

CB East senior Athena Man won silver for her research into a targeted cancer therapy treatment created with a compound derived from turmeric.  

Bronze medal-winner Abhiram Kaakarla, a junior at CB South, created a new protein-based approach to assist with cellular signaling in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome patients. 

CB South sophomore Aaditya Kambli earned bronze for creating an artificial intelligence system for prosthetic limbs, designed to improve control and responsiveness.  

Tamanend Middle School eighth-grader Anisha Cheruvu also won an award for her work related to artificial intelligence.
