NBA play-in tournament scores: Deni Avdija drops 41 points to put Blazers in playoffs after Hornets beat Heat in OT


It will be the Portland Trail Blazers against the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the NBA playoffs, courtesy of Deni Avdija, after a wild first night of NBA play-in action.

The first game of the play-in tournament saw the Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat 127-126 in an overtime thriller, but not without controversy or technical difficulties. The second game was also a back-and-forth affair, which wound up as a 114-110 Blazers win.

Avdija posted 41 points on 15-of-22 shooting, 12 assists and 7 rebounds in one of the best nights of his career, which included the final go-ahead shot.
