The 2026 awards season is almost here, and to kick things off, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gathered the stars for its 16th annual Governors Awards, presented in partnership with Rolex. This year, the Academy recognized Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise, and production designer Wynn Thomas for their extraordinary contributions to film, in addition to Dolly Parton, who received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Although the event marks the unofficial start to the awards circuit, actors and actresses have already hit the ground (and the red carpet) running.
