In Athens, a major international art exhibition titled “When Hearts Speak: Ukraine and Greece in the Colors of Freedom” was held, becoming a symbol of cultural dialogue and a strong friendship between the two nations.
According to the Facebook page of the United Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece, the event was organized by the Trembita Society for the Support and Development of Cultural Heritage with the support of the diaspora.
The exhibition featured works by artists from Ukraine, Greece, and other European countries. Some of the pieces were also sent by those who cannot be near due to the war, using digital formats.
Attention was drawn to: the work of Honored Artist of Ukraine Emzara Kiknavelidze, the works of Lera Fokina and Olena Illichova, the powerful series “Tyrannyka” by Greek artist Giorgos Vourus – a painful response to Ukraine and an echo of Picasso’s legendary “Guernica,” and also Stelios Panayiotakopoulos’s “Awaiting Peace,” recently presented at the Louvre and has become a symbol of the steadfast pursuit of peace and light over darkness.
Also, special thanks were extended to the young Ukrainian talents – Alina Kashitsyna, Tetyana Hnienyuk and nine-year-old Ivanna Redko.
Participation and Exhibition
The organizers stressed that the exhibition brought together friends from Ukrainian and Greek cultural organizations, the Ukrainian Embassy in Greece, the Melina Cultural Center, and Esperia Travel.

Also at the parish of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Athens, a large charity fair and concert took place, dedicated to the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Ukraine’s Defenders Day.
The exhibition stood as an example of a strong cultural exchange and demonstrates readiness to support the Ukrainian and Greek communities in difficult times.
