Music Leaders Network leadership programme reveals 2025 cohort | Labels

Music Leaders Network, the leadership programme for women, trans and non-binary people in the music industry, have announced their latest cohort.

The September 2025 cohort includes participants from Absolute Label Services, Peermusic, PPL, Generator, Ladies Music Pub and Howden Music.

Music leaders from across the industry are joining a network of dozens of leaders.

Led by Remi Harris MBE and Tamara Gal-On, the initiative aims to transform the career development of women with between five and 25 years of music industry experience.

“Networks are expanding and with that people are finding their whole careers to be easier, more impactful and more fulfilling,” said Tamara Gal-On.

Music Leaders Network is now in its seventh year. The opening session of the latest cohort in Somerset House brought together nine leaders from across the music industry.

They will be joining a network of leaders from across the music industry. Alumni include employees from Fuga, Polydor, BMG, September Management, Small Green Shoots, Welsh National Opera, PRS For Music, AIM Ireland and Blue Raincoat Music as well as freelance music creators.

The community now includes more than 90 music industry leaders who come together regularly to provide a confidential support network around topics such as imposter phenomenon, managing your energy in times of stress and how to create working patterns that support neurodivergent traits in yourself and others.

“It’s fantastic to see investment from the industry in developing a group of dynamic leaders from areas as diverse as insurance broking, sheet music, data management and live performance, we are delighted to welcome them to Music Leaders Network,” said Remi Harris MBE.

“We are seeing over and over that this isn’t just a five-month programme – as soon as people start Music Leaders Network, they are meeting our alumni, they are connecting with leaders from across the music industry. They aren’t isolated any more,” said Tamara Gal-On. “They belong to something. Networks are expanding and with that people are finding their whole careers to be easier, more impactful and more fulfilling.”

Among those surveyed, 97% of the women who participated said they were now more confident in their leadership abilities.

Steven Howell, head of music at Howden Music, said: “Traditional management training is okay for theory and generalist management knowledge. However, when I heard about the Music Leaders Network programme it seemed that this was the perfect opportunity for Molly [Puttnam] to build on the skills, knowledge, network that she already has and become an inspirational leader in her field.”
