The harsh, Chicago winter is creeping in, so LFHS students are bundling up in style. What are some of the most popular accessories and clothes that the Scouts are wearing to keep warm and stylish this winter season?
Uggs
A fashion trend that has lasted throughout many years is Uggs. Uggs have been popular sincethe Ultra Mini style was released in 2020. Since then, they can be spotted on many LFHS students daily. Their fluffy, plush wool interior is sure to keep anyone warm as below freezing temperatures begin to be more common. Uggs also come in a variety of cute styles, whether it be the comfy slippers or trendy Tasmans.
Mou Boots
Mou Boots are another kind of comfy footwear that can be spotted all around LFHS. Contrary to Uggs, they have more stitching on the shoe itself and the most popular style is taller. Similarly to Uggs, though, they have a very soft inner lining. In fact, the name “Mou” was chosen as it comes from a French word meaning soft. They come in a variety of colors and styles, with some having different types of stitching.
Aritzia SuperPuff
The Aritzia SuperPuff is one of the reigning winter staples at LFHS. The SuperPuff can be seen on students daily as they walk from their parking spots into the school. Many also decide to keep theirs on during the day, as it is so comfortable and warm. The SuperPuff also comes in a variety of styles, including matte or glossy options. Including a luxuriously large hood, the Superpuff keeps your ears warm from the below-freezing Chicago weather. They come in a range of colors as well, so one can choose whatever they feel matches their personal style best. There is even a dog option for the SuperPuff to keep your fluffy friend warm as well!
Fleece Jackets
A popular jacket option this winter season is fleece jackets. Coming from a variety of brands, fleece jackets area great way to stay warm this winter. This kind of jacket can be seen either in neutral colors that will go with any outfit or more fun and playful colors to make a statement. Fleece jackets first started being popular in 2024 and have remained a stylish choice throughout this year.
Mother Jeans
As the days of skirts and shorts fade away with the cold coming in, jeans become the popular daily option for LFHS students. A particular style popular this year is Mother jeans. They can be seen mostly in wide or straight leg styles: both in light and dark wash. These jeans were first popular in the 1990s, but fell out of fashion in the 2000s. They later came back into style in the 2020s where they can now be seen as a winter wardrobe staple.
Wrap Sweaters
Sweaters are an everlasting, classic piece in any wardrobe. Tracing back as far as the 15th century, sweaters are an extremely popular item of clothing that will continue to be in style for many years to come. Specific variations of the item, though, rise and fall in their popularity. This year, wrap sweaters have come into the spotlight. Deriving from “ballet-core,” which was popular in previous years, wrap sweaters are a cute way to accessorize this year. Many brands carry them and they can be seen all around during this winter season.
