Man sentenced for luring 13-year-old to Greece hotel for sex

Rochester, N.Y. — A man was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty in June of coercion and enticement of a minor, according to the United States District Attorney for the Western District Court of New York.

Jonathan Woody, now 31, of Rochester exchanged sexually explicit online messages and texts in January 2024 with a 13-year-old child he met on social media, prosecutors said. Woody paid for an Uber Jan. 2, 2024 to bring the child to a hotel in Greece, where he gave the victim alcohol and marijuana before engaging in sexual acts with them.

Prosecutors said the victim’s family eventually called 911 to file a missing person report and the child returned home on their own. Woody was arrested after law enforcement discovered his relationship and interactions with the child.
