The Europa League trophy is due to make an appearance at Squire McGuire’s pub in Limerick next month.

The trophy’s appearance is organised by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club here in Limerick. It will take place on December 6, and fans can get their picture taken with the trophy from 5:30.

Tottenham picked up the trophy, their first in 17 years, defeating Manchester United 1-0 in May’s final in Bilbao.

The trophy’s appearance coincides with the club’s Christmas Party. Spurs fans can gather to watch their team play Brentford that afternoon, before getting their picture taken with the trophy.

For a €10 donation to Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention, Spurs fans or indeed fans of any team can get a professionally taken picture with the iconic piece of silverware.

Tottenham Hotspur has a fantastic following in Ireland, perhaps due to the many Irish players that have been in their ranks over the years. Despite having no Irishmen on the Europa League team that won in May, Irish internationals Chris Hughton and Tony Galvin were part of their UEFA Cup winning team in 1984. Joe Kinnear helped them win the cup in 1972.
