Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under public scrutiny ever since they stepped away from their royal duties and moved to the US, hoping for a quieter, more independent life. But not everything worked out in their favour. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s life in America is headlined by scandals. Meghan’s Netflix show With Love, Meghan has often been in the news for controversy, with the latest involving a fashion foul. Latest reports allege that Meghan ‘stole’ a fashion shoot dress worth $1,695 that was featured in the new promo video of the Netflix cooking show.
As soon as Netflix dropped the Christmas special— With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, a section of social media users kept the thrill on for the upcoming show. The promo video also featured Meghan and Prince Harry, sharing a kiss amid the holiday setting. However, some viewers were drawn to another detail, the one-shoulder green gown that she wore while lighting candles on a festive tablescape.
Reports suggest that Meghan wore the $1,695 Galvan Ushuaia dress for a 2022 fashion photoshoot, which then prompted buzz that the Duchess of Sussex “took the dress from the shoot without asking” for her “royal archive.” The source claimed in the same report that, “As a royal, she was required to archive all her looks. It was known that when things were pulled that they may not be returned.”

Followed by intense criticism on social media, Meghan’s spokesperson reiterated, insisting that the stolen dress claims are false. In a statement to People, the Duchess spokesperson noted, “The insinuation that any items were taken without the full knowledge and agreement of the on-set stylists or their respective teams is not only categorically false, but also highly defamatory. Any items kept were done so in total transparency and in accordance with contractual arrangements.”
With Love, Meghan Holiday Celebration will drop on Netflix on December 3. Aside from Prince Harry, the show will see a star-studded lineup that includes Naomi Osaka, Tom Colicchio, Will Guidara, and Meghan’s longtime friends Kelly Zajfen and Lindsay Roth.
