Cynthia Erivo’s Best ‘Wicked: For Good’ Press Tour Looks

Even though I wasn’t entirely sold on Cynthia Erivo’s Jean Paul Gaultier and Prada looks, her Wicked: For Good press tour was still an easy 10 out of 10 for me — mostly because that Balenciaga moment alone could have carried the entire tour on its back.

What amazed me is how Cynthia made a mostly black wardrobe feel anything but predictable. Instead of fading into sameness, every stop on this tour brought a fresh silhouette, unexpected texture, or theatrical flourish. One night she’s serving McQueen lace that feels almost gothic-romantic, the next she’s in Dior with a hat so commanding it practically deserved its own credit. And then there were the masked shades — because of course Cynthia isn’t leaving subtlety to chance.

This run was so strong that I might actually prefer it to the first Wicked press tour. It felt assured, expressive, and completely aligned with her red carpet identity: committed, imaginative, and deeply considered.

As for favourites, the Balenciaga sits firmly at the top for me, with the McQueen a very close second. But honestly? There wasn’t a single look she didn’t serve with total intention.

What I appreciated most is how she nodded to Elphaba’s colour world without falling into the hyper-literal playbook we saw with Barbie or It Ends With Us. It was thematic without being costume-y, stylish without being obvious — and that’s where Cynthia thrives.
