Credit Verizon for letting you take care of all your shopping in one place. The carrier is bundling an iPhone — an iPhone 17 Pro Max, in this case — with an Apple Watch 11 and an iPad.

A trade-in isn’t required for your free iPhone 17 Pro Max, but you will need to open a new line at Verizon on the carrier’s Unlimited Pro or Unlimited Plus plans. The iPad and Apple Watch need plans of their own, too. Still, that’s a lot of devices in exchange for tying yourself to Verizon for the next 36 months.

iPhone 16 keeps dropping

When new iPhones come out, the price of older models drops. That’s why the iPhone 16 now costs $699 at Apple. But you can find the older model for even less on Black Friday — especially if you’re willing to activate the phone with a carrier.

Best Buy has dropped the iPhone’s price to $679, which is less than what Apple is charging right now. But if you activate the phone with either AT&T or Verizon when you check out at Best Buy, the price drps even further. You get another $100 discount dropping the total cost to $579 for an iPhone 16 — not bad for a phone that still performs well against more recent models.

Plus-sized deal

The Plus model didn’t make the cut for the iPhone 17 lineup, so the iPhone 16 Plus is the last of its kind. Apple dropped the cost of the iPhone 16 Plus by $100 to $799 with the iPhone 17 launch, but you can get the older phone for free at Verizon right now.

Specifically, when you sign up for an unlimited plan at Verizon — including the cheapest Welcome Unlimited option — you can get the iPhone 16 Plus for free via monthly bill credits. Those credits extend for 36 months tying you to Verizon for three years.

Why get an iPhone 16 Plus? Because of the bigger screen and the fact that this model supports the same Apple Intelligence features as the iPhone 17 models. It should still be getting iOS updates when your commitment to Verizon is over.

New phone, new service

Get a phone at Mint, and any deal usually includes sevice through the T-Mobile-owned discount carrier. And that’s no burden: despite its reliance on T-Mobile towers (or maybe because of that), Mint is one of the best phone carriers we’ve tracked, tanks to low prices on wireless service.

To that end, Mint Mobile’s iPhone 17 Pro deal includes a year of unlimited data for half-off-the-usual rate ($180 instead of $360, so you’re paying $15/month in essence.) Tack that onto the iPhone 17 Pro’s $1,099 cost, and you’re paying $1,279 for both phone and coverage — with no additional payment for wireless service required until a year from now.

iPhone Air price comes down to earth

There’s a lot to like about the iPhone Air’s slender, lightweight design, but I’d guess the $999 starting price puts off some would-be upgraders who might balk at paying that much for a phone with limitations on camera and battery life.

Not much can be done about those limitations, but carriers can take aim at the price. AT&T is knocking enough off the cost of the iPhone Air to where you’re paying less than $90 for the phone. And there’s no trade-n required.

Sign up for an unlimited data plan with carrier, and the cost of an iPhone Air drops to $7.99/month. Consumers are eligible for an additional $200 credit, lowering the monthly payment to $2.43. That’s spread out over 36 months, tying you to AT&T for the next three years. But that commitment may be worth getting an excellent phone for less than $3 in monthly payments.

What’s cooking at Apple

Apple doesn’t do Black Friday the way other device makers do. Unlike Samsung and Google, which are offering direct discounts on their phones, Apple instead throws in a gift card when you buy an iPhones.

The deal doesn’t even cover the iPhone 17 models. Instead, you can nab a $75 gift card from Apple when you buy an iPhone 16. The iPhone 16e gets a $50 card.

I think you’re better off looking for carrier deals on the iPhone 17. (So does Apple, which links to iPhone 17 deals from carriers to help you score a discount on a new model.) But if you are considering an iPhone 16e or one of the company’s older models, you can get something in return at Apple.

Expand your iPhone’s storage with this $8 MagSafe card reader

Even though there are new iPhone models out there that come with generous storage, like 512GB or 1TB options, there’s an easy way to supplement it. All you need is this incredibly useful Anker MagGo USB-C Adapter that lets you quickly and easily expand your iPhone’s storage.

That’s because it sits on the back of your iPhone with its magnetic connection, which tucks away microSD and SD card slots that you can use to increase your storage. It also works well to save video footage captured in ProRes Log. Even better, you can use this adapter to transfer files to and from your device.

Best Buy has our favorite 3-in-1 MagSafe charger on sale for 53% off

We’ve tested dozens of MagSafe wireless chargers, but the one that gets our vote for being the best is the Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable MagSafe Stand. Even though it functions just the same as every other model we’ve tested, what differentiates it is the fact that it has a telescoping stand for your iPhone while it’s charging. It’s perfect for watching video by your desk or taking the occasional FaceTime call.

Best Buy has it down by 53% off right now as part of its Black Friday sale, which makes this Tom’s Guide approved MagSafe charger easier to buy at $69.

No lengthy service agreements with this $250 off iPhone 15 Plus deal

The nice thing about this Black Friday deal on the iPhone 15 Plus is that it doesn’t require a lengthy service agreement agreement like what T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon offers. Instead, Total Wireless is simply asking for a 3-month commitment to its Total 5G+ Unlimited plan, which comes out to a flat fee of $195 at checkout.

This drops the price of the iPhone 15 Plus form $629 to $379, plus the unlimited plans comes with a subscription to Disney+ Premium. In total, $574 plus tax at checkout to get the iPhone 15 Plus with three months of unlimited service.

Thanks to MagSafe, there are plenty of accessories you can pair with your new iPhone purchase. If there’s one we recommend getting with Black Friday sales happening right now, it has to be the ESR MagSafe Wallet with Find My. In addition to it accommodating up to 6 cards in our testing, you can fold it over to act as a phone stand that’s perfect for watching videos and taking the occasional video call.

If that’s not enough, this handy wallet allows you to track it because of its Find My support. In the event it’s lost, you can track it down. If it’s nearby but you can’t find it, you can play a tone that makes it easier to find.

Save $250 off iPhone 16 Pro when you activate it with 3 months of service

Total Wireless is a Verizon owned MVNO and it’s what we like to classify as the in-between option with Verizon and Visible. Right now, the carrier is offering the iPhone 16 Pro with $250 off its price, which brings it down to $649. You need to activate it with the carrier’s 3-month Total 5G+ unlimited plan, which tacks on $195 to the cost at check out.

It’s still an outstanding Black Friday offer considering that you’re getting a flagship model with 3 months of service for less than the cost of buying it outright at $999.

An iPhone, an iPad and an Apple Watch all in one deal!

Perhaps the most spectacular deal on an iPhone this Black Friday is Verizon’s offer of an iPhone 17, Apple Watch 11 and iPad 11 for free when you take out an unlimited plan. That’s three devices for the price of one!

The Apple Watch 11 and iPad 11 are awesome deal sweeteners if you (or someone lucky in your life) needs a new smartwatch or tablet, but the iPhone 17 is of course the star of the show. Apple added a huge number of upgrades this year, such as a smoother display, a new Center Stage selfie camera and longer battery life, that make the base model arguably just as good value as the more expensive pro iPhones.
