Time to settle in for a James Bond movie marathon this December, as, starting today, every single official Bond movie is available to watch on Pluto TV, Paramount’s free streaming service. The only exception is Never Say Never Again since that’s not considered an official Bond movie.
If you went to Amazon Prime today, looking for a Bond movie, you may have been left disappointed. Not because they’ve disappeared, but because the films are no longer included with your Prime subscription. That’s because, starting today, you need to go to Pluto TV in the US and the UK if you want to watch them without paying any extra.
The Bond Movies Have Jumped From Prime To Pluto
While a little annoying for those with Prime, it’s better news for more people, as even though Pluto is owned by Paramount, you don’t need to pay anything to use it. All you have to do is sign up for a free account. Pluto now has a James Bond channel that just shows Bond movies 24 hours a day for those who just want to drop in, and all 25 Bond movies will also be available on demand starting today.
If you watch one movie per day starting now, that’ll take you right up to Christmas Day. Just a thought.
007 First Light Pre-Order Guide: Editions, Prices, And Deluxe Upgrade Details
Everything you need to know about placing a pre-order for 007 First Light.
Pluto’s collection includes everything from 1962’s Dr. No, right up until No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007, and, for the time being, the newest Bond film. With no word yet on who the next Bond will be, it’s very likely we don’t get a new movie for another few years, which could make the gap between No Time To Die and its follow-up the longest in franchise history.
As for the solitary omission from Pluto’s list of available Bond films, Never Say Never Again is not currently available along with the other 25 movies. That’s because it’s not officially a Bond movie. It’s a somewhat complex story, but Never Say Never Again wasn’t produced by Eon Productions, the studio behind every other entry in the series, and brought Sean Connery back to the role after he had been replaced by Roger Moore.
You might be wondering why, since Amazon now owns the rights to the Bond movies, they aren’t still on Prime, too. Much like the Never Say Never Again situation, it’s complex. There are probably rights issues in place and deals signed that, for some complicated reason, prevent that from happening. Just enjoy all the Bond movies while they’re free for everyone. They won’t be on Pluto for long, with some predicting that they will have disappeared again, likely returning to Prime, by the new year.
