LOS ANGELES – Devin Booker’s latest milestone, becoming the third-youngest player in NBA history to hit 17,000 points and 3,600 assists, is more than a statistical checkpoint. It’s a tectonic shift in how we understand the modern superstar. When the only names ahead of you are LeBron James and Oscar Robertson, the conversation stops being about output and starts being about impact.

Devin Booker makes NBA history:
What makes Booker’s achievement one-of-a-kind is that he’s proving that today’s elite scorer can’t just fill the box score; he must bend the defense in multiple dimensions. Booker’s scoring has included elite-level mid-range craft, three-level precision, and slick footwork, but the assist milestone underscores the strategic layer he’s added. Phoenix’s offense increasingly flows through him, not as a shooting guard, but as an offensive mastermind who dictates tempo, spacing, and decision-making.

For Phoenix fans, they view this version of Booker as one that can elevate the Suns from playoff hopeful to legitimate contender. A team’s ceiling in the NBA is directly tied to how many ways its best player can manipulate a game. Booker now does it as a scorer, initiator, and problem-solver. Unfortunately, they will have to go without the use of Booker for the time being, as he left Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first quarter with a right groin injury. Phoenix will now need to rely on its other stars, Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie, to carry the weight of Booker’s absence.
