The latest update for Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios’ Grounded 2 is here, bringing some technical improvements and other features ahead of the larger, previously announced Winter Update that’s still to come.
The PEEPR has also been improved with the PEEP.R 2K. This improved system can be used in third-person and first-person, and can also zoom in and out, making it easier to use and effective for scouting or tracking resources.
Obsidian also touts major improvements to the game’s performance, with Grounded 2 now updated to Unreal 5.6.1, which the developers indicate should result in “noticeable” frame rate improvements for players across the board.
Windows PC players in particular can also now take advantage of NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR upscaling options, with different levels that can provide different balances of visual quality and higher framerates.
A great early access game gets better
Grounded 2 has already been a great experience so far, and I’m glad Obsidian Entertainment is continuing to provide regular updates. The game previously added a new boss fight with a tarantula called AXL, and the game flew past three million players just a couple of weeks after it launched in early access back in July.
Grounded 2 is currently available on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (Steam and Xbox on PC). Like all Xbox first-party games, it’s available in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
