We’re excited to announce that a brand-new music video for “Crossing The Rubicon” has officially dropped on our YouTube channel and you can watch it now!
This song, which is featured on our new “Legends” album, was inspired by Julius Caesar’s historic crossing of the Rubicon River – a bold decision that changed the course of history.
For the concept, we imagined the band performing inside the Roman Senate, where all the senators have been summoned for a mysterious announcement. They have no idea what’s coming. Suddenly, we launch into heavy metal right in front of them. At first, the senators are completely confused – they’ve never heard anything like it and definitely don’t enjoy it. But as the song progresses, something unexpected happens: they start getting into it. Slowly, they begin rocking and moshing, and by the end, they’re so consumed by the music that they knock themselves out.
Then Caesar enters, sees the entire Senate laid flat by a heavy metal band, and realises he doesn’t need to lift a finger. He can take control without any resistance!
Pär comments on the experience: “This was one of the most enjoyable music videos we’ve ever made. Everything flowed smoothly thanks to the amazing energy of the actors and the unique charm of the location.”
He adds: “We spent two days filming in Sabbioneta, Italy, at the Teatro all’Antica, which is one of the oldest surviving indoor theatres in Europe. It was a fascinating location, full of character and history. Since the theatre operates as a museum during the day, we were only allowed to film in the evenings, which added a layer of challenge to the production.”
