10 Luxe Winter Wardrobe Staples, From $13

Some people are secretly great at juggling or have mastered calligraphy, but as for my hidden talent? Well, I’ve mastered the art of finding luxury pieces at affordable prices. As someone with expensive taste living in New York City on a budget (especially during the holidays), I’ve become well-versed in finding items that look and feel high-quality without the designer price tags. I’m not one to gatekeep my skills, though. I love to share my nuggets of wisdom with my friends and, of course, you, the reader.

With that in mind, I rounded up my most recent luxe-looking fashion finds from my go-to spots: Amazon, Quince, and Nordstrom. Some of my top picks include a cashmere sweater for $50, a nearly identical alternative for a $2,850 handbag, and more elevated staples, including a long trench coat, crisp white sneakers, and a Mongolian cashmere beanie. Keep reading for all my luxe-for-less fashion finds, starting at just $13.

Best Luxe-Looking Winter Wardrobe Staples

Suuksess Cashmere Oversized Pullover Sweater

The Row is the epitome of quiet luxury, and its prices prove it, but I found a nearly identical lookalike to the brand’s $890 Sibem Sweater for a fraction of the cost. This Suuksess Cashmere Pullover has the luxe look of The Row, but it’s $46. The sweater’s oversized fit and ribbed neckline also add a chic touch to the classic piece. One shopper wrote that the fabric’s quality “makes it look more expensive than it is,” and said that it’s “very comfortable” and “so soft and warm.”

Spanx’s AirEssentials two-piece sets have been on my wishlist forever, but I can’t justify the price tag at the moment. Luckily, I found this stylish two-piece set on Amazon, and shoppers rave that it’s on par with Spanx’s buttery-soft sets. In fact, one person who owns both sets wrote that “both have fabulous, soft fabric; they are about the same weight; they fit identically,” and another wrote, “This set is better because the pants actually have pockets.”

The Loewe Puzzle Bag is one of the most sought-after designer handbags in recent years, but even the smallest size option is $2,850. My favorite spot for designer lookalikes, Quince, has its own take on the patchwork style for $160. Yes, it’s still a bit of a splurge, but it’s made from high-quality Italian leather, and the timeless design makes it a piece you’ll have for years to come. I’m eyeing the cognac shade, but it’s available in three other sophisticated colors, including black, merlot, and mink. One reviewer shared that it “holds a ton,” while another wrote that it’s “incredibly versatile for both business-casual and everyday outfits.”

Farktop Oversized Long Trench Coat

Nothing says luxury quite like a long khaki-colored trench coat, and this Farktop outerwear piece is the ideal option for attaining the designer look for under $50. The slouchy trench features an adjustable belt, two size pockets, and functional buttons. One person wrote that it “looks expensive,” and added that it’s earned them “many compliments.” Meanwhile, another shopper wrote, “It dried quickly and didn’t get soaked from the rain.”

Keep scrolling through for even more of my luxury picks, including Gucci loafer lookalikes, ultra-flattering jeans, and elevated sneakers, starting at just $13.
