Sigourney Weaver was back on the red carpet for the Avatar: Fire and Ash European premiere held at Boulogne-Billancourt in France on Friday night, and my first reaction was probably like yours: that’s more like it.

After the Valentino moment in LA — which tipped a little too far into gimmick territory — this custom McQueen double-breasted tuxedo felt like a welcome recalibration. Not a retreat into safety, but a return to the kind of elegance that has always suited her best. There’s a maturity to this look that doesn’t dilute the fashion at all. If anything, it sharpens it.
That’s not to say I don’t enjoy her experimenting — I do — just not when Alessandro Michele has her styled like a high-fashion bellhop. There’s a fine line between theatrical and distracting, and this McQueen look stayed comfortably on the right side of it.

This is Sigourney as we love to see her on the red carpet: assured, tailored, and completely at ease in her own lane, with the elongated ribbon detailing adding just enough visual interest.
The McQueen Birdee black leather boots were the perfect finishing touch.
