Liberty Science Center in Jersey City is offering a series of family-friendly holiday programs featuring a new after-hours event where children can meet Santa in their pajamas.
The Santa’s Pajama Party runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays now until Dec. 24.
Children can wear their pajamas while decorating cookies and ornaments, viewing the night sky through telescopes, and taking free photos with Santa.
The event also includes performances from Imagine Circus.
The pajama parties are scheduled for Dec. 12, Dec. 13, Dec. 19 and Dec. 20.

The science center also features a series of events during the holidays and until Jan. 4, 2026.
Sock Skating Rink lets children glide and spin under colorful lights, with hourly snowball fights, while penguins and other animal friends show lets visitors meet live animals, including a penguin, baby kangaroo, and lemurs.
Nitrogen Ice Cream involves educators demonstrating how to make peppermint ice cream using liquid nitrogen, and the Fire & Ice Science Show will continue until Jan. 4 and feature experiments with fire and frozen water.

The price of each of the events is included in the purchase of a general admission ticket.
The holiday-themed planetarium and Tis the Season Laser Show are also available through Jan. 4. Tickets are $8 for adults and children ages 2-12.
Weekend activities include the Gingerbread Express Train, a holiday-themed mini train ride for children. Tickets for the train are $5 per ride.
The science center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
General admission is $31 for adults and $26 for children. Parking is available. The fee for cars and vans during the day is $7.
