We certainly don’t claim to be experts on fashion, but we can certainly tell when a country superstar like Tim McGraw is trying to make a statement.
What the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer was trying to say with his tan-colored pants as he took the stage for his first round of Tim McGraw: Live in Vegas shows isn’t entirely clear, but they definitely sparked plenty of conversation.
Tell Us More About These Pants
It’s tough to choose what to discuss first: how snug McGraw’s suede pants appeared or how the fringes moved as he walked.
Not since David Bowie wore his famously provocative codpiece as the Goblin King in the 1986 film Labyrinth have we seen a bulge that big on a performing musician. Here’s hoping that those sitting in the first few rows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace had eye protection. The buttons on the button-fly could have popped off at any second.
The fringes on those fitted boot cut pants work overtime to draw attention away from the center. They reach up to his hips and sway at every step.
Considering that the quality of musical performances is judged on the words and music that come out of a performer’s mouth, McGraw’s decision to focus on what’s below his waist was certainly an unusual decision, to say the least.
Tim McGraw Fans Had a Lot To Say About Those Pants
Instead of focusing on Tim McGraw’s music, all fans could talk about was his wardrobe.
“I can’t unsee this.”
“My dude has raided Lainey Wilson’s closet.”
“Wow can’t believe he wore those.”
“Lainey Wilson wore them better.”
“No no no. The pants gotta go.”
“Cotton tighty whities may have been a good idea.”
“His friends are not his real friends. There is no love in letting someone you know leave the house in such garments.”
One user on X even wrote: “Nobody wants to see this. It’s not attractive to girls at all.”
Here’s hoping those pantaloons get lost at the cleaners when the singer returns to Vegas on Dec. 12-13 to close out his residency.
