BYU-Idaho Fashion Show rolls out the red carpet

The BYU-Idaho Department of Home and Family will host a Hollywood-red-carpet-themed fashion show on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Hart Auditorium.

The Fashion Show is held every semester with a new theme, which is chosen by the student-run Fashion Show Committee and its faculty advisor.

“Some students [choose] to follow the theme of the show with their projects,” said Ty Keller, Co-chair of the Fashion Show Committee, “but that is not a requirement.”

Keller said that the fashion show is unique every semester because the students have worked on these original pieces all semester long.

“The level of ambition is very evident when the projects walk the runway,” Keller said.

Keller pointed out that there were two 490 “Special Topics” courses that were especially ambitious for this semester’s fashion show.

“This semester … Students design and produce a Line Collection, like famous fashion designers show at things like New York Fashion Week,” Keller said. “They make a minimum of 4 different looks in one semester. The other 490 this semester is Draping. … Draping students were instructed to think big and design couture gowns or outfits.”

The event will be $5 online ahead of time, and $7 at the door.

Tickets for the Roll out the Red BYUI Fashion Show can be accessed via the QR Code in the flyer above or by clicking here.
