The film follows a ragtag group of four as they are sent through a strange portal and into a cubic world full of adventure and danger.
Directed by Jared Hess of Napoleon Dynamite fame, A Minecraft Movie might have proved unpopular with critics, but it made an enormous impact on audiences, with many citing it as one of the best family-friendly movies of the year. With Christmas likely to bring many different generations together, this wild adventure is sure to entertain most.

Rotten Tomatoes: 68% | IMDb: 7.4/10
With Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet‘s latest effort, Marty Supreme, about to hit theaters this Christmas Day, why not check out one of the acclaimed actor’s most underrated roles? Felix van Groeningen‘s Beautiful Boy follows journalist David Sheff (Steve Carell) and his son as they tackle the many obstacles that come with the latter’s recovery from a methamphetamine addiction.
A touching tale based on the bestselling memoir Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction, this BAFTA-nominated tale is just as important a depiction of addiction as it is the bond between a father and his son. Carrell and Chalamet are both hugely impressive, with their emotionally powerful performances truly bringing this story to life.

‘And So It Goes’ (2014)
Rotten Tomatoes: 16% | IMDb: 5.9/10
As 2025 comes to an end, many will be reflecting on the titans of Hollywood that we sadly lost this year. Among them are both Diane Keaton and Rob Reiner, with the two teaming up on this 2014 romantic comedy. And So It Goes follows Oren Little (Michael Douglas), a man who has turned his back on those around him following the death of his wife. However, when suddenly put in the care of his granddaughter, whom he never knew existed, he must turn to his neighbor for help.
A touching tale that deserves far more praise than it received, And So It Goes is sure to put a smile on your face. Beyond the movie’s quality, however, it is a wonderful way to remember two of Hollywood’s greatest names in Reiner and Keaton, who have left behind an enormous, irreplaceable hole of talent, with their loss sure to be felt for many years to come.
