If you just got a new Google Pixel smartphone, there are a few key accessories you should get right away. Here are our recommendations.
Get the right protection
One of the first things you should get with any new phone is some form of protection, whether that’s a case, skin, screen protector, or all of the above.
Starting with cases, there are infinite options, meaning there are plenty of choices to ensure you get the style, features, and fit you want. Some favorites among the 9to5Google team include cases from brands such as Spigen, Peak Design, Mous, dbrand, and more. A lot of these offer something beyond Google’s first party cases, too. Where the “Pixelsnap” cases, or the standard first-party offerings for non-Pixel 10 devices, are often a little too grippy to slide in and out of your pocket with ease, cases like the Peak Design Everyday Case are rugged, retain magnets for accessories, and are easier to use in day-to-day life. The same applies to many of the cases from Spigen, which are often among the best value you’ll find. Meanwhile, dbrand has a couple of nice options too, with its clear “Ghost” cases promising to never yellow, while its “Grip” case has great protection while allowing for easy customization with a skin.
Alternatively, if you want to go case-less, some great options to add protection can include skins or bare-bones cases like the wild Arc Pulse.
Here are a few case recommendations from the 9to5Google team for a few of the latest Pixel devices:
I’m personally a big fan of screen protectors, but I will say that you’ve got to get the right one. I’ve been exploring the “premium” options for a bit lately, but I’ve found they’re rarely worth the price. Rather, the ones I keep circling back to are super cheap. “AmFilm,” “OMOTON,” and “WSKEN” on Amazon are no-name brands, but the quality has proven itself time and time again for me. And they’re all cheap enough that I’m not worried about when my screen protector breaks. Just take it off and slap on a new one. These are cheap enough and good enough quality in 2025 to where you shouldn’t be walking around with a broken screen protector for more than a few days, and you certainly shouldn’t be wasting money on the wildly overpriced ones sold in carrier stores.
It’s probably time for a new charging brick and battery bank
USB-C has made it so easy to charge all of our devices, but with the standard in place for years and no charging bricks included with phones anymore (boo), I’d be willing to bet you’re probably due for an upgrade.
As far as charging adapters go, it’s gotten really easy to get high-power USB-C chargers for cheap, and form factors have been getting crazy. For in-home use, there are plentiful options with some noteworthy brands including Anker, Baseus, Nomad, and Belkin. Below are a few great chargers that will charge your new Pixel at full-speed for under $30 – way cheaper than Google’s first-party charging adapter.
Another recent favorite of mine for travel is a Baseus Enercore 67W charger with two retractable cables. It makes it so easy to charge up both my phone and my laptop or tablet while on the go without thinking about cables or additional chargers. There’s also a single-cable 45W option that’s just $30.
Anker’s Prime series also has some great options, including a 67W 3-port brick that’s super tiny for the amount of power it delivers, and usually sold for under $50.
Meanwhile, it might also be worth considering a new battery bank. These are some of the most common tech items because, well, everyone benefits from having one. But like many, you’ve probably been using the same one for a while, and these have gotten a lot better lately, as our Will Sattelberg noted in a recent hands-on with some options from Anker. Qi2 charging is a huge Pixel 10 upgrade, especially if you skip the first-party options
