
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended September 30, 2024.
The Certificate of Achievement is GFOA’s highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The City of Melbourne has received this award each time it has applied for it in the past 42 years.
The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to municipalities for producing annual financial reports that meet the association’s high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the city’s financial story.
