It’s not the definitive factor, but the number of Google searches a movie receives is a good measure of its popularity. The internet giant has published a list of the 10 movies that have generated the most interest on the world’s most popular search engine, and we can draw two equally surprising conclusions.
The first is that superhero movies remain relevant. If anyone thought there was fatigue, it may be reflected in box office results, but not in audience expectations. Three of the five most sought-after movies among all those released in 2026 are from Marvel Studios or DC Studios.
Another interesting conclusion is that Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, ‘The Odyssey’, does not seem to have generated as much excitement, ranking ninth. Without going any further, some films such as ‘Street Fighter’ and ‘Masters of the Universe’ are ranked higher. However, it does at least appear in the top 10, which notably lacks titles such as ‘Super Mario Galaxy,’ ‘Mortal Kombat II‚’ and above all, ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ and ‘Dune 3.’
