If the producer of Silent Hill realises his ambition, there’ll be one new game in the survival horror series every year.
Motoi Okamoto revealed his target in an end of year interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, admitting that while the goal may be ambitious, it’s very much his focus.
He said, as translated by Genki on X (or Twitter):
“Continuing from the release of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to deliver Silent Hill F in September 2025, putting the Silent Hill series back on track.
Including announced and unannounced titles, we aim to release titles at a pace of about one title per year.
While it remains to be seen how much we can achieve this, I will do my best as the producer of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to see excitement for Silent Hill continue to build. We’ll do our best to provide you with new updates, so we kindly ask for your patience a little longer.”
We already know Silent Hill Townfall is in development at UK studio Screen Burn, and has a strong chance of releasing next year.
Meanwhile, Polish dev Bloober Team has confirmed plans to remake the original Silent Hill game, and we wouldn’t be surprised if that launched in late 2027.
So, looking at the schedule of announced projects, it does seem possible for Okamoto to achieve his ambition in the short-term.
And who knows? By 2028 it’s entirely possible Taiwanese dev Neobards could have a follow-up to Silent Hill F ready to release.
