It appears Tom Izzo is once again a man of his word.
Last week, the college basketball world was focused on a loophole taken by Baylor to add a previously NBA Draft selected player (James Nnaji) to its current roster. The story sent ripples across the college basketball landscape, which included Izzo weighing in on the move by the Bears. Izzo called it a “shame” and pointed his finger at both the NCAA and the coaches that were behind this move.

Izzo also stated he would reach out to Baylor head coach Scott Drew to further discuss the addition of Nnaji to get a better understanding of his reasoning behind it. Izzo and Drew are considered friends so the statement by Izzo wasn’t an attack on Drew, but rather to have a conversation about this wild new move that’ll potentially alter college basketball moving forward.
