West Music has been named the 2025 Retailer of the Year by Music Inc. magazine, according to an announcement from the Coralville-based company.
The recognition appears in the magazine’s December issue, which features a multi-page spread highlighting the company’s commitment to music accessibility, customer service and educational leadership.
West Music, which has operated since 1941, was honored for its extensive reach in music education and retail. The company partners with more than 343 school districts and operates an instrument rental program alongside educational platforms including Music ConstructED.
According to the announcement, Music Inc. praised West Music for its community-first approach, in-store experiences and staff expertise. The magazine noted that West Music employees are musicians and educators themselves.
The article also emphasized the company’s legacy of growth, adaptability and dedication to music education, which have established West Music as a presence in homes, schools and performance venues across the Midwest and beyond.
West Music is a third-generation, locally owned and family-operated business specializing in pianos, guitars, drums and percussion, band and orchestra instruments, and print music. The company also provides music instruction, repair and music therapy services.
