In the town of Fort Deposit sits the Alabama Allstar Opry, a place where traditional country music is still alive.
Max Conway started the opry in 2018 as a place for people to come, enjoy themselves and listen to good music. The Opry is open twice a month on the first and third Saturday nights and serves a buffet meal with a two-hour music show.
“I’ve always enjoyed singing,” Max Conway said. “I had this building here in Fort Deposit. I had time, so I decided to fix it up and make something out of it.”
Conway said his love of music is what inspired him to do this.
“Katye Giddens and I are the main singers,” Conway said. “We have guests who come and perform though as well.”
