The Best Vintage and Archival Fashion of 2025, as Seen on Celebrities

The ultimate fashion flex used to be wearing a fresh-off-the-runway look. That’s not to say that those moments don’t still thrill us (please see: Ayo Edebiri in Chanel, Greta Lee in Dior, Emily Ratajkowski in Jean Paul Gaultier, etc.), but in recent years, celebrities have found new ways to surprise and delight.

The vintage and archival boom held strong in 2025—no doubt the work of some truly intrepid stylists, who cast a wide net, pulling from the likes of Tab Vintage, Timeless Vixen, Opulent Addict, Shrimpton Couture, and other celebrity-approved vintage dealers. The 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars party proved the vintage fashion kickoff: Kendall Jenner looked every part a femme fatale in a body-hugging black dress from Thierry Mugler’s spring 1992 collection, while Kaia Gerber went a more ethereal route in a caped cream Valentino number from spring 1997.

In 2025 alone, some celebrities have trotted out showstopping vintage looks on several occasions. Keke Palmer’s roster included looks from Chanel, Dior, and Versace, while Cynthia Erivo got to play in the Givenchy archives.

But vintage and archival looks aren’t just for red carpet anymore—they’re full-on pap walk ensembles now. In Los Angeles, Rihanna showed off her baby bump in a candy-colored Pleats Please dress, while celebrities employed their fashion flexes on the streets of New York ahead of the 2025 Met Gala.

Below, revisit Vogue’s favorite celebrity vintage and archival fashion moments of 2025.
