Erik Hokkanen & the Hip Replacements

Thursday 1, Radio Coffee & Beer

In 2025, Erik Hokkanen overcame a serious medical condition he suffered while touring overseas to return to the stage by year’s end. It’s only fitting, then, that the multi-decade Austin music scene veteran begins 2026 with a free matinee at the venue he’s made a home for several years. Doors open at noon.

Battle of the Bands

Saturday 3, Come & Take It Live

Multiple acts compete for a chance to appear on KNVA television show 512 Studios Live. Contestants for part five of BOTB include sisterly duo Lila and Sofia, Port of Monks, and Shivering Demons. At the 2024 Austin Music Awards, Lila and Sofia were given the inaugural Zev Award, which was created by Ben Kweller to honor his late son, Dorian, and to recognize Austin-based musicians aged under 18.

Metal Monday

Monday 5, the Far Out

This month, Lick of My Spoon Productions (RippleFest Texas) looks to cure four cases of the Mondays with weekly bills featuring three local acts apiece. Garage rockers Bad Acid headline the January residency’s first show, with support from Silver Hour and Malaysia Brunei.
