Center Theatre announces auditions for ‘The Sound of Music’  -Piscataquis Observer



DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts is thrilled to announce open auditions for its 2026 spring musical production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic “The Sound of Music.” The production will be directed by Ashley Gosslin with vocal direction by Olga Maselli and band director Deb Maynard.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts is thrilled to announce open auditions for its 2026 spring musical production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic “The Sound of Music.” The production will be directed by Ashley Gosslin with vocal direction by Olga Maselli and band director Deb Maynard.

The theatre will produce the much-loved musical in May, featuring live musical accompaniment thanks to a generous anonymous donor. Additionally, all performers cast in “The Sound of Music” will receive stipends — $250 for leads and $75 for other roles. 

Auditions will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18 at the Center Theatre, 20 East Main St. Those auditioning should be at least 7 years old. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and perform a short a cappella piece of their choice.
