Emmanuel Music will entertain Jamaica Plain Branch Library visitors with a live performance of Johann Sebastian Bach works on Jan. 5.
This is one of several Emmanuel Music concerts at neighborhood branches of the Boston Public Library to create regular and accessible opportunities to experience live music. Breathe with Bach “aims to support the wellbeing of Boston’s community, especially those who need the respite, enjoy the feeling of connection, or are otherwise unable to access live music.”
Emmanuel Music occupies a niche space — as it’s a laboratory for Bach’s music. Emmanuel Musicians aim to find creative ways to engage with Bach’s music. This is a unique free concert in which people are welcome to watch and listen, even if only for a few minutes in passing, or treat it like a soundtrack while you work, read, and relax. Library visitors are encouraged to talk with the musicians — who love to talk about music, Bach, and more.
