Daily NBA Player Props – January 2nd
Jalen Smith – Over 8.5 Rebounds (-113)
On Wednesday the Bulls limped out on to the court with no Josh Giddey, Colby White or Zach Collins. However, once out there, the squad that they did bring looked solid – largely due to this man. Jalen Smith scored the most points he did all month while pulling down 14 rebounds. It’s clear that if they’re going to compete in the absence of those three, who were combining for 17.7 rebounds per game, that Smith will need to pick up some slack. The Magic have been a good rebounding team on the year, but are well below average over the last three games.
Anthony Black – Over 17.5 Points (+100)
Black came up three points short of this total last game against the Pacers. However, that was just the first time he failed to score at least 19 points in his last eight games. It was also the first game that he failed to make a three-pointer in that span. The Bulls are in the bottom third of the league when it comes to allowing three-pointers. Additionally, they are one of the worst defensive teams in the league and, as we mentioned, are banged up bad. They allow 122.3 points per game (good for 27th) and Black should have no issue finding 18 of those.
Brandon Miller – Over 19.5 Points (-112)
Maybe the books have missed it, but we haven’t. Brandon Miller has gone for 30+ points in each of his last two games. He’s doing that while shooting under his average in both three-point percentage and free throw percentage. The big story has been the volume and he’s seeing a ton of it right now. However, even if that were to regress back to the mean, Miller is still 6-2 against this line in his last eight games.
