Every New Year’s Eve, Donald and Melania Trump host one of the biggest bashes at Mar-a-Lago to welcome January, with many famous faces on the guest list. In the past, celebs like Martha Stewart and Serena Williams partied it up with the right-wing folks, and according to CNN, guests paid $1,450 to attend the party in 2025. That’s a lot of money to see some of the worst-dressed attendees, and many, including the FLOTUS, didn’t disappoint.
Melania Trump had some of the best looks of 2025, but she dropped the ball on New Year’s Eve (pun intended). While she usually goes for quiet luxury, her look that night was as loud as a spinning disco ball. If she wanted to stand out among all the revelers, she certainly did so, but she wasn’t the only offender. Lara Trump and Jeanine Pirro were just as gaudy in their bejeweled gowns, though we’re surprised some of the MAGA celebs didn’t wear Pantone’s snooze-worthy 2026 Color of the Year, a white shade known as Cloud Dancer. Ultimately, from overly blinged-out looks to ‘fits that were total bores, the Trumps’ annual holiday party had some looks we just couldn’t ignore.
Lara Trump’s glittery pink dress looked like a tacky ’80s find
Lara Trump has had a complete transformation since marrying Eric Trump, and her fashion choices have definitely become flashier. In the past, her outfits were fairly understated, but these days, you can see her in everything from animal prints to feathers. Case in point, Lara’s sequined pink NYE dress featured one sleeve and a thigh-high slit in the middle of the skirt, as well as cutouts and a cowl neckline. It was as if Lara was partying like it was 1988 instead of the mid-2020s.
Jeanine Pirro wasn’t a good judge of her NYE outfit
Tacky seemed to be the theme at Donald and Melania Trump’s New Year’s Eve party, with Jeanine Pirro showing up in a bedazzled blue gown full of sequins so blinding that she practically glowed in the dark. The U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia didn’t just stop there, either. Pirro added even more sparkle to her look with a pair of circular diamond earrings and stacks of bracelets. We get that holiday shindigs are all about the sparkle, but drenching herself in head-to-toe bling was excessive.
Melania Trump looked like a roll of foil on New Year’s Eve
Hey, Melania Trump, Reynold’s called, and it wants its look back. The FLOTUS was all smiles as she walked into her New Year’s Eve party with the president, but all we could see was a roll of aluminum foil. It didn’t help that the super-shiny dress was fitted and long, which she emphasized with equally blinding silver shoes. The dress was so bright that it took on a reflective quality, but at least she could have used it to touch up her makeup throughout the night.
Katie Miller’s dress material was an unfortunate choice
United States Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller attended the Mar-a-Lago party with his wife, Katie Miller, both dressed conservatively in black. While LBDs are always a safe (if somewhat boring) choice, we wish Katie had picked a material other than satin. The slight sheen made her ‘fit resemble a heavy-duty garbage bag, with the neck detail looking like tie strings. Velvet or another matte fabric would have photographed better while simultaneously being seasonally appropriate and showing off Katie’s baby bump.
Sara Netanyahu was dressed for an office party
Was Sara Netanyahu on her way to work? It certainly looked that way with her plain maroon New Year’s Eve dress that hit just below her knees. With the long sleeves and sensible neckline, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was dressed like an office manager instead of a partier at Mar-a-Lago. Her nude pumps didn’t help, either, and just a bit of sparkle or shine would have jazzed up her ‘fit. With the lack of jewelry and unadorned hair, Sara was giving the very least that night.
