6 Fashion Trends That’ll Be Everywhere in 2026

Happy New Year! You’ve made it to 2026! If your first order of action is to make a donation bin and commit to a total closet rebrand, hold that thought. While the urge to rebuild our capsule wardrobes is strong in the first few weeks of the year, I have good news: Most of the fashion trends we saw in 2025 (celebrity-loved baggy jeans, for example) will still be cool in 2026, too. 

Instead of disappearing into the trend abyss, popular pieces like elevated track pants or glove flats will continue to rise in popularity throughout the next year and into the late 2020s (jumpscare!). How do I know? Celebrity co-signs, editor-loved picks, and trend-stocked retailers are proof of these pieces’ everlasting appeal. So, make sure to hold on tight to the items below—or, if you don’t already have them, consider this your sign to finally add them to your closet. 

Baggy Jean Supremacy

Baggy jeans have been a staple of 2020s fashion, and with how popular they were among editors and stylish celebrities last year (Jennifer Lawrence, Hailey Bieber, Jennifer Aniston—you get the point) I don’t see the style going away anytime soon. This pair is under-$100 and has a cozy loose, wide-leg and mid-rise fit. 

Levi’s Low Loose Jeans

If you haven’t yet tried the baggy jean phenomenon, I’d recommend this pair from Levi’s. The brand’s take on the silhouette features a low-rise waist and loose straight leg. I prefer these over looser styles since they’re not overly baggy, but they still have a roomy feel and baggy-leg effect. 

Not Your Grandpa’s Sweater

J.Crew 2025 Rollneck Sweater

Okay, I know what you’re thinking: “Of course, sweaters will still be cool in 2026.” True, but, I’m talking specifically about vintage-inspired styles you’d likely find in your grandparents’ closet. Take the rebrand of the J.Crew Rollneck Sweater as an example: The classic vintage style co-signed by Martha Stewart last year will be a staple in 2026.

After years of pared-back, minimalist styles taking over, maximalist touches like argyle print will start to come back into the trend cycle. Demi Moore tried the argyle sweater trend in 2025, and I can see it being a big hit next fall and winter, too.

You may have seen ballet sneakers pop up throughout 2025, but they’re going to be everywhere in 2026. Celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence have even endorsed the style and every retailer from Nike to Puma is bringing the 2000’s silhouette back.

For a more Gen Z take on the ballet sneaker trend, opt for the Puma Speedcats. They come in a handful of colors and prints and are easy to slip on and off. The best part? They look like a sleek ballet flat but have all the comfortability of a sneaker.

I hate to break it to you, but leopard print—among other animal prints—will still be just as cool in 2026. If you’ve felt intimidated by the bold trend, try it in your accessories. You’d be surprised how perfectly understated a leopard belt or snakeprint shoe can be with a neutral top and pants.

While leopard print was the most popular animal print in years past, my fashion psychic senses are telling me that snakeprint, croc effect, and dalmatian will be a much needed refresh. I love a snake print heel or flat—typically, the colors of the print lean more neutral, so it’s minimalist friendly.

When you think of athleisure, what comes to mind? I’d guess it’s leggings or maybe a matching sweater set. In 2026, workout styles with an elevated touch will make it back into our everyday wardrobes, like a pair of these track pants that can be styled with a sweater and loafers, for example. Queen of luxury Gwyneth Paltrow has even opted into the trend.

If you want to take the on-trend pants up a notch, this satin pair is equal parts sporty and sophisticated. You could style them for pilates or wear them out with heels—that’s the magic of the elevated athleisure trend.

Have you heard of glove flats? They aren’t much different than your typical ballet flat—instead of an exaggerated toe and heel, they’re flat and have a “glove” like silhouette, hence the name. Celebrities like Kendall Jenner have styled them throughout the year, but I know they’ll be mainstream in 2026.
