Best memory and why?
Harry Maguire’s 121st-minute winner against Lyon. Even by Manchester United’s standards, this was a comeback like no other. And that moment is still slightly blurred for me, which tells you all you need to know about the celebrations.

At Old Trafford, 4-2 down in the 114th minute, with the Europa League as the club’s last hope of European football the following season – as Fergie famously said “football, bloody hell.”
It is just a terrible shame that 5-4 victory didn’t enter folklore as part of a Europa League-winning run.
Worst moment and why?
Europa League final defeat. Speak of the devil. So much was riding on that match in Bilbao, and United lost. This football club losing a cup final to Tottenham Hotspur should not be possible, never mind one in Europe.
But handing Spurs their first trophy in over two decades? A Spurs team that finished 17th in the Premier League and sacked their manager afterwards? It just summed up the worst season of my lifetime.

If I could drink a New Year’s brew with one member of our squad/management it would be…
Sir Jim Ratcliffe. I want to know what the next five years look like for United. What does ‘success’ look like for Ruben Amorim? Which players don’t have a future here? What is actually happening with the stadium? Out of anyone, Sir Jim would surely have some tea to spill.
The thing that’s infuriated me in 2025 is…
I’m not going fancy here, it’s the lack of wins. More Premier League defeats than victories cannot be repeated in 2026.
My gut tells me 2026 will bring…
A midfield rebuild the size of last summer’s attacking recruitment drive and, as a result, a further improved football team playing in the… Europa League.
