Watching movies is one of my favorite things to do and it is even better in the winter when it gets so cold that you have no choice but to curl up and binge-watch a few. Now, you have another one to add to your list!
There have been so many movies filmed in and around the Duluth area over the past few years and now another one filmed in the area is making its big television debut next month. I can’t wait!

We first learned about the film in mid to late 2023, as the crew was looking for locals to fill a bunch of different roles during filming, which took place in September of that year. At the time, the film was called Nana’s Here.
While filming was taking place, we learned a little bit more, like that the movie is a thriller. It filmed along the North Shore. At the time, it definitely looked like the scariest movie filmed in the Northland yet. Now, it’s premiering!
The film has a new title: A Mother-In-Law’s Obsession and will premiere on Lifetime on Friday, March 6th! The movie will premiere at 7 p.m. our time. The film was written and directed by John Burd.

So what is it about? Here’s the synopsis for the film, courtesy of its official page on the Lifetime website:
When a struggling young widow’s estranged mother-in-law turns up to help with the baby and the bills, it seems like a dream come true. But her dream turns into a nightmare as it becomes clear that Nana wants the baby for herself.
Okay, this definitely sounds scary and thrilling! Count me in. It stars Christa Rose, Colleen Elizabeth Miller and more, according to IMDb.
Someone who caught the movie ahead of its television debut called it an ‘instant classic’ so you know it has got to be good! Check out the trailer below.
The film was released in August for the Lifetime Movie Club and now, will premiere to Lifetime viewers in March. I love that you can tell it was filmed along the North Shore. There are many shots of Lake Superior, which is fun.
