From its inception in 1982, NCSE collected a variety of documents and media related to its internal operations and to controversies in science education, ranging from the Scopes trial of 1925 to the present. Beginning in 2016, NCSE transferred the bulk of its archives, including a collection of over 100 science textbooks, to the American Philosophical Society, the oldest learned society in the United States. With the recent completion of a reorganization and unification of these archives, a new finding aid is available online. NCSE is grateful to the APS for its stewardship of these important materials.
