Close to 5,000 member hospitals can now access a vetted breach recovery playbook to keep care running.
The American Hospital Association has named Rubrik as a Preferred Cybersecurity Provider.
Rubrik, a security and AI operations company, offers cyber resilience and data protection tools, ransomware training and financial risk analysis to nearly 5,000 AHA member hospitals.
These member hospitals will have access to a breach recovery playbook to keep care running, according to Rubrik, which said it is shifting the focus from stopping attacks to rapid recovery.
“A cyberattack against a hospital, which disrupts or delays healthcare delivery, is more than a technical issue; it is a threat to life crime,” said John Riggi, national advisor for cybersecurity and risk at AHA. “Ransomware attacks that knock critical care systems offline threaten patient and community safety. As an AHA preferred provider for cyber resiliency, we can confidently recommend Rubrik as a reliable source to defend against and recover from sophisticated cyberthreats and ransomware attacks for our hospitals and healthcare system.”
The AHA announced its Preferred Cybersecurity & Risk Provider Program in October 2025. It identified more than a dozen companies to help hospitals and health systems protect their patients and operations from cyberattacks and physical threats.
Since 2009, more than 935 million healthcare records have been exposed in large breaches, according to The HIPAA Journal.
The AHA represents nearly 90% of the nation’s hospitals and health systems, including more than 420,000 healthcare workers.
Exclusive to AHA members, Rubrik’s Cyber Resilience Bundle includes Identity Recovery and Microsoft 365 protection to safeguard Tier 0 applications and maintain a Minimum Viable Hospital during attacks. The bundle includes a ransomware-response workshop and a complimentary five-year financial impact assessment for providers to quantify and mitigate cyber risk, Rubrik said
Josh Howell, Healthcare CTO at Rubrik, said, “Rubrik’s AHA designation is an honor that acknowledges the importance of minimizing the fallout from cyberattacks, knowing where and how to restore critical systems quickly, and, most importantly, ensuring uninterrupted care that saves lives.”
