Greece held their newly revamped Eurovision national final Sing For Greece show to decide who gets the opportunity to represent them at Eurovision 2026.

Akylas took out the win with his song Ferto, in a fourteen-song line-up in the final.  He won the opportunity to represent Greece in Vienna in May.

28 songs competed in the two semi-final. The results in the semi-finals were determined with 100% public televoting. For the first time international viewers were also allowed to vote via https://sfg.vote/.

The results for the final were 50% televote, 25% Greek jury and 25% international jury.

Only seven acts from each semi-final secured a spot in the Sing For Greece final!

The Greek national final has seen a huge revamp and rebranding this year after its big return as Ethnikos Telikos last year.

The show was hosted by Giorgos Kapoutzidis, Betty Maggira and Katerina Vrana who provided great comedic relief in what was a very enjoyable show.

Greece in Eurovision

Greece made their Eurovision debut in 1974, the year that ABBA won.

Over the decades Greece has had varying degrees of success until 2001 when Greece finished in third place for the very first time with Antique’s (I Would) Die For You.

Following 2001, Greece managed to stay in the Top 10 for most of the decade, which included their first win in 2005 with Helena Paparizou’s My Number One.

The last 10 years Greece has finished in the Top 10 twice but has also failed to qualify for the Grand Final three times.

In 2025 in Basel, Klavdia got Greece back in the Top 10 with Asteromata finishing in 6th place in the Eurovision Grand Final!
