All The Highlights From Milan Fashion Week

For Simone Bellotti’s second outing at Jil Sander, he decided to look at the fashion brand, not as a house, but as a home. ‘An emotional space where one lives, feels safe, and belongs to. Or not,’ the show notes explained. ‘A home is a place one might seek refuge in or want to flee from; it has calm or tension, and is ruled by contradictions as a part of life.’

There was a sense of intrigue that came through with the collection, which played with the contrasts of geometry and softness. Some looks were sharp, others gently enhanced the curves of the body with hourglass silhouettes. A base palette of blacks, blues, beiges and grays grounded the offering, hits of colour found in coral-flecked blue bouclé suiting, an earthy green and deep burgundy bags or a spotted pink heeled pumps. The designer also debuted a sunglasses collaboration with Oliver Peoples, out soon.
