Amanda Knox has produced an original music video to accompany the documentary about her return to Italy to meet the man who prosecuted her. Mouth of the Wolf: Amanda Knox Returns to Italy is a 2026 Hulu/Disney+ documentary that follows her as she returns to Italy for the first time since her 2015 exoneration. It is not a re‑telling of the Meredith Kercher case; it is a story about confrontation, trauma, accountability, and the unresolved human fallout of a global media spectacle. The documentary’s emotional center is Knox’s face‑to‑face meeting with the prosecutor who pursued her for years.
She posted the video with the following statement.
“I’m thrilled to share with you the official music video for How Strange It Is, an original song I recorded that was featured in our documentary Mouth of the Wolf: Amanda Knox Returns to Italy. Amanda Knox is making music? Isn’t that a bit of a left turn? Well, no actually. Long before Italy, I was in choir and musical theater, and I brought my guitar with me to Perugia. Don Saulo taught me to play piano in prison. Music has always been an important part of my life. During prison, it helped me survive. Afterwards, it’s helped me process and make meaning of the absurd and traumatic events that took over my life.
This newly released video is a meditation on memory, identity, and the surreal experience of being seen and judged through other people’s stories, and the hollowness of having an identity formed around what you didn’t do. Who am I, beyond innocent? Beyond “not what they say I am.” That’s a question I’ve been grappling with since my exoneration. And well, one answer is that I’m a musical person. A philosophical person. A person who loves art for it’s own sake. I hope you enjoy!
Please watch, listen, and share.”
