Carteret County Public Schools will host the American Music Festival on Friday, March 6, 2026, welcoming fourth-grade students from across the district for a special live classical music performance.
The concert will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the East Carteret High School Auditorium and feature internationally acclaimed musicians, including pianist Wynona Wang, violinist Nathon Meltzer, and cellist Lelando Ko. Wang is a prizewinner at the 2024 Gina Bachauer International Artists Competition and the 2023 Sydney International Piano Competition, while Meltzer has been praised by Gramophone for his performances. Ko has also received high praise from renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman for his musical beauty and subtlety.
The performance is designed to introduce students to high-level live classical music and support arts education throughout the district. Participating students will represent Atlantic Elementary, Beaufort Elementary, Harkers Island Elementary, Smyrna Elementary, Tiller School, Morehead Elementary, Newport Elementary, and St. Egbert’s Elementary School.
