Mayor Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey and the members of the Salem Music Club officially marked November as American Music Month in the city of Salem with a mayoral proclamation Friday. In keeping with the goals of the National Federation of Music Clubs to promote American Music the club will stage its annual Parade of American Music throughout November. The Salem Music Club will hold a program featuring the music of American composer Alan Menken, presented by Salem Music Club President Mike Newman and Program Chairman Deann Wennerstrom at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the parlor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church educational building. This will be followed by a Festival of Choirs will at 3 p.m. November 30th at the Salem First Methodist Church.
