The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl allowed 114 students from seven area high schools to test their financial knowledge.
The event was held Feb. 11-12 at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids, according to a community announcement.

The challenge was a quiz bowl-style tournament where high school students answered questions about finance and economics, according to the announcement.
Students from Amherst, Loyal, Marshfield, Nekoosa, Pittsville, Port Edwards and Wisconsin Rapids participated.
Collaboration enhances financial education
United Way’s Financial Security Coalition collaborated with Asset Builders of America Inc. and Mid-State Technical College to host the event.
The competition created a fun and exciting atmosphere, boosting student engagement and knowledge of financial topics, according to the announcement.

“The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl is a great example of how we can make financial education both fun and impactful. Seeing students collaborate, think critically, and gain confidence in their financial knowledge and having fun while doing so was truly inspiring,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Jessica Arneson.
Winning teams advance to state championship
A team from Amherst High School, consisting of Elliot Podeszwa, Otto Anglemyer, Michael Glodowski and Shaydon Abbott-Beversdorf, won the final match on Feb. 11.
A team from Marshfield High School, including Sterling Willcome, Nicholas Kenney, Neel Gonugunta and Saket Kanchireddy, won the final match on Feb. 12.
Both teams will advance to the state championship in Madison on April 22.
