Biosketch

Andrey Sarantsev, Ph.D., completed his thesis in mathematics at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is now an associate professor with tenure in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Nevada, Reno. His research interests are statistics, probability, and quantitative finance. He has extensive experience teaching undergraduate classes in statistics and mentoring undergraduate research in finance.

Project overview

The student will download publicly available financial data online and use simple statistical tools to analyze it. The student will make an output: an easy-to-use report which translated statistical analysis in real-world terms.
