Despite the concerning visual of the play, Antetokounmpo struck an optimistic tone post-game, indicating he does not currently plan to undergo an MRI. “I’m just going to go back home, sleep, see how I feel tomorrow,” he said. “If I have a little bit of discomfort, then I’ll go from there. But as of right now, I’m not really bothered by it.”
What NBA media is saying
- Drew (@drew-h-stevens.bsky.social): Though it doesn’t seem to be in the cards, should Milwaukee shut down Giannis, the lottery math changes quickly. The Bulls currently sit a half-game ahead of the Bucks in the lottery standings — a swing of nearly 7% in top-four odds. Chicago can’t wait for the math to eliminate them. — 3/16/2026, 2:19:21 AM View post

What all that means, in the short term, is that the Hawks can chase wins in March and April without worrying about the draft lottery in May. Which is certainly refreshing amid all of this season’s tanking talk. It also puts them in the privileged position to prioritize Johnson’s development as opposed to trying to make a trade run at Giannis Antetokounmpo. Atlanta would have been a natural trade partner for Milwaukee given the control that the Hawks have over the Bucks’ top selections in the next two drafts, but league sources say that Atlanta has always viewed the notion of trading the 24-year-old Jalen Johnson for Antetokounmpo to be a complete non-starter. — 3/14/2026 marcstein.substack.com

The Bucks are on the verge of playoff ineligibility for the first time in 10 years. Regardless of what will ultimately unfold for the remainder of this devastating season, Giannis stands steadfast to continue the work and improvement for Milwaukee as the rest of the roster is fully healthy to play now. “I want to keep figuring it out, keep watching film, keep practicing, keep trusting one another, and just figure out ways to win a game,” he added. “I don’t care how it’s going to happen—if it’s ugly, pretty, beautiful, if we knock down 20 threes, or if you score 80 points in the paint. You just got to keep figuring out ways to win games. “Now that the team is available, I feel like that gives a better chance to do that.” — 3/13/2026 BasketNews
Ira Winderman: Giannis, after last night’s game, on Bam, “Obviously, whenever I play against Bam, it’s always an act of motivation. I think he’s one of the best players in the NBA, one of the best two-way players in the NBA, one of the best four, five men in the league. I don’t have to see any big points on the board.” — 3/13/2026 x.com
