Atlantic Music Group enters ‘multi-level partnership’ with Fader Label, including 50/50 joint venture


Atlantic Music Group and Fader Label have entered into what the companies describe as a “multi-level partnership.”

The deal includes a 50/50 joint venture to sign and develop new and established artists, alongside distribution and support services for the independently operated Fader Label‘s existing roster and catalogue.

It will also see an expansion of the services that Fader Label‘s own independent distribution arm, Fader Distribution, can offer to developing artists.

Fader Label was co-founded in 2002 by Jon Cohen and the late Rob Stone, growing out of the pair’s Cornerstone Agency and The Fader magazine, which they had launched in 1999.

Over the years, the label’s roster has included Clairo, Matt & Kim, Yuna, Binki, Slayyyter, Shallou, James Ivy and Saul Williams. Releases across the label’s catalogue have collectively generated billions of streams, according to the announcement.

Cohen’s reference to “Tony and Zach” is to AMG General Manager Tony Talamo and Chief Operating Officer Zach Friedman, both of whom were promoted to their current roles when Grainge took over as CEO in October 2024.

The partnership is the latest in a series of joint venture and label deals struck by Atlantic Music Group under Grainge‘s leadership. In February, AMG entered into a joint venture with Today Is Vintage, the indie label founded by Swedish executive Rebin Shah. In September 2025, the company struck a JV with Ricky Hil’s Limosa Nostra Records, and in February 2025, it formed a partnership with Abou “Bu” Thiam‘s BuVision label.

Fader Label and Atlantic already have a connection. Clairo, who released her debut EP and first album through Fader Label, signed to Atlantic Records in September 2025.

Stone, who co-founded Cornerstone Agency in 1996 before launching The Fader and Fader Label with Cohen, died in June 2024 at the age of 55. The pair had built Cornerstone into a music marketing operation with over 100 employees and more than $100 million in annual revenue, according to Variety.

Fader Label‘s current executive team includes Carson Oberg as General Manager and Anthony Holland as COO, alongside Cohen as CEO.

Atlantic Music Group, the Warner Music Group-owned label group that houses Atlantic Records, 300 Entertainment and 10K Projects, has been reshaped since Grainge assumed the CEO role in October 2024. Recent leadership moves have included the promotion of Kevin Weaver to the newly created role of President, Atlantic Music Group in January, and the appointment of Dave Rocco as Chief Creative Officer in December 2025.Music Business Worldwide
