With every season, every closet changes. What type of aesthetics are Long Beach State students aiming for this fall?
Autumn typically brings warm, earthy tones, including dark red, yellow and orange.
However, the fall season isn’t the only way students find inspiration. Platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram allow users to brainstorm potential outfits.
Lindsey Johnson, a fourth-year English education major, said that though her inspiration comes from Pinterest, it is mostly from her own taste and style.
First-year general biology major Kelvin Nguyen follows in similar fashion.
“I follow these Instagram content creators, and basically copy their fits,” Nguyen said.
Additionally, Nguyen added that his cousin, who fell into a “fashion rabbit hole,” introduced him to thrifting.
Despite autumn being associated with cooler weather, Long Beach’s mild climate allows some students to experiment with lighter layers.
For instance, fourth-year criminal justice major Naobi Orozco wears her Levi’s overalls layered with her brown cardigan.
Overall, the autumn aesthetic allows students to blend their creativity and inspiration for self-expression. Whether inspired by social media, thrift stores or personal style, each outfit showcases students’ interpretation of the fall trend.
